Be Ready for an Out-of-The-Blue Showing

Be Ready for an Out-of-The-Blue Showing
Three tips to help you get your house ready to show in a short time.

The housing market has shifted, and interest rates are rising, but it's still a seller's market. Your house may stay on the market longer than a weekend, and in the worst-case scenario, you might have to endure showings for a couple of weeks. That's why you'll want to make the showing process as easy as possible. Here are tips for getting your house ready to sell and how to keep it showing-ready:

1. Buy moving boxes. Pack up anything you're not going to use regularly. It’s fine to store all of these in your garage. This will reduce clutter and make things cleaner.

2. Close your appliances. It's okay to have the washing machine and dryer full of clothes but close them to make things look orderly. No one will notice dirty dishes in a closed dishwasher.

3. Plan for pets and kids. Pets should be out of the house during a showing. Have your kids help with the cleaning by picking a couple of their favorite toys or books and boxing up the rest.
